VIVO walls

Handcrafted For the Urban Gardener

VIVO walls are beautifully designed plant growing systems ideal for Urban gardeners with little space. Handmade in Philadelphia from recycled glass, steel and raw wood. VIVO walls are a great way to grow plants hydroponically or traditionally inside your home.

Growing plants with VIVO walls.

Before buying a VIVO wall make sure that you have a wall in your home that gets a decent amount of light. A room that has a South facing window will be your best bet. Different plants require different amounts of light so talk to your local plant store about what will be best for your VIVO wall.

You will also have to mount the french cleat wall bracket. Your wall is probably made from drywall but it could be something else. It's best to screw the bracket into a wall stud so it is securely anchored. Depending on what type of wall it is you may need special anchoring. A local hardware store will be able to help you determine what is necessary.

Olla

(Closed Container)

Our Olla models are great for first time or experienced indoor gardeners. The glass vessels don't have a huge capacity so we recommend growing plants that don't require a lot of water and smaller root systems. Cacti and succulents are great plants for the Ollas.

Fluvio

(Hydroponic)

Our Fluvio model is a great introduction into the world of growing plants hydroponically. Hydroponics is the method of growing plants without soil. The root system is supported in a growing medium like rocks or clay pellets and water supplemented with nutrients is delivered through an automated pump system. Our kits come with everything you need to get started including;

Organic nutrient solution, digital timer, water pump and PH testing kit. wall mount, and flow valve, growing medium.

You supply the plants and a vessel that is at least 3 gallons to hold the water, nutrient solution and pump.

Ikea sells large glass vessels that do the job for $20-$30.

Organic nutrient solution, digital timer, water pump and PH testing kit.

Recommended Beginner Plants

Olla

Small to medium sized low-water plants like cacti and succulents do well. Make sure the system gets enough sun

Fluvio

Basil, arugula, rosemary, thyme, cilantro, oregano, parsley, sage and mint are all great beginner plants.

Feel free to try different herbs or non-edible plants, just no root vegetables. Be aware that plants like Jalapeno and Tomatoes require slightly more attention as their root systems grow fast and eventually will clog the drain system of  the glass bottles.

Keep an eye on your system to make sure it is draining properly. When you notice it slowing down it might be a good idea to remove the plant and trim back the root system. Make sure to unplug the pump before doing so.
